Lancaster Poppy FieldsThis picture was taken outside the CA State Poppy Fields in Lancaster , CA. It was taken with an older camera. So my first question is how do you feel about photography when it no longer looks like a traditional picture? Do you feel that "a picture should look like a picture" or are you open to seeing photos in a different way? I feel that a photograph can do both. What do you say?

I think for me, photography is about capturing the moment; capturing the big and the small, the beauty and the truth and using the photo as a lens to see the world in a new light or to expose a reality often not seen. While I appreciate the art and talent required to augment a traditional photograph into something new...my preference is for the traditional photo.

Yes that is snow on the mountains. It was a few years ago when we had a really wet Spring and the Poppies were everywhere......Juli I love your comment. Thanks
I think photography is art and the beauty happens when you open your perception of what a photograph is to include all possibilities. There are some amazing photographers who create their art with photoshop. Brooke Shaden is a popular example at the moment. She takes multiple photographs and textures to create surreal images limited only by her imagination. That inspires me even though it's far from what I tend to produce. I think the inspiration comes with the acceptance of all possibilities. I just love art and the freedom it offers! Thanks for a great question Arpad!

I think that a photograph can take on other qualities besides the traditional picture. This photo could look very cool on canvas
